Snowflakes in the Wind

Snowflakes in the wind are a pretty sight,
floating around with all their might.
However, come the season of spring,
sorrow, sadness, strife for the snowflake,
will the changing season bring.

Humans, like these swollen balls of snow
seemingly forever on a rampaging river must we row.
Much like boatmen trying to tame the angry waters,
a snowflake’s short, sorry life is full of stutters.

The onset of spring; birds start to sing!
Flowers begin to bloom; happiness may it bring?
Alas, the snowflake, the world hath changed!
Remnants of its beauty are from existence erased.

Heed my warning! Those who have read.
Embrace the change if you wish not to be dead.
For like the spectacular snowflake in the wind,
anything might come to an untimely end.

When things go wrong, do not lose hope.
for the special snowflake returns every winter.
Instead, t’is better you let fly a rope,
grab the snowflake and end what’s bitter.
