The Last Day at School

Was going to present this in class, was unable to. So here it is:
“The end of the final school year. This year was a rollercoaster of a ride. It had many downs and not so many ups, but we fought through it. We’ve not had a normal year, but we’re not normal people are we?
Today was the last day of school. Don’t call me insane! I know that everyone knows its the last day and they’re probably mad with me for reminding them. But, its still a moment to whip out some nostalgia. This school has been our shared home for years and we’ve got to know each other too, haven’t we? Yet, now comes the time to move on. Look around you. After our exams, we might never see these friends again. We might have to go on completely different paths, and that sounds really sad!
But, we will always be held together by the memory of the year 2015-16, when we braved an earthquake, a blockade and internal strife to complete our final year of school. There is an uncertain future ahead of us. We do not know what we might have to fight against. But, I have a good feeling inside me that all will end well and we’ll be successful wherever we wind up.
All of us have tremendous talent. We must not let it go to waste. We have to ace our boards and excel in our lives. We might meet again someday, maybe after we’ve changed alot. But, we’ll never grow apart from our unity which has been strengthened by all the negative events that have occurred around us. Lastly, I’d like to say good luck to each and every one of you, and I hope you guys will remember me, cause I’m dead certain I’m going to remember each and every one of you for the remainder of my life.
Thanks again to all students of X CBSE and also the teachers who have guided us so brilliantly and compassionately.”
Our year was as beautiful as the Crab Nebula!
This year was epic. There were so many hardships, but we’ve come out of those hardships stronger than ever before. Yesterday was our last day at school. I meant to share this speech in class, but I was unable to do so. I’ve already posted this on Facebook. But for those who don’t have Facebook, I am sharing this on my blog as well (which I was going to do, even if all my friends had Facebook!)
Thanks to everyone who made my year very enjoyable and also to those great people who helped me plod on despite those tough times!
