So, let us begin with the 7 magnitude earthquake. Earthquakes are caused by the slipping of tectonic plates. Substituting value,
7= 0.67 log10 (M0) -10.7
or, 17.7*3/2 = log10 (M0)
or, 26.55 = log10 (M0)
Therefore,
(M0)= 1026.55
(M0)= 3.55*1026
What I haven’t told you yet is, the unit of the M-naught is dyne*cm. In order to get our answer in the SI unit (Joule), we need to multiply this by 10-7. This will give us the value in Joules (N*m).
So, the energy released by a 7 magnitude earthquake in Joules is:
Energy released= 3.55*1019 Joules
This is, undoubtedly, loads! But, let us now move onto the wackier stuff.
According to Einstein, mass is a form of condensed energy. He believed that if you were to fully disintegrate some amount of mass, you would get tremendous amounts of energy! This is the idea behind nuclear reactions; the energy released by atomic bombs and reactors is due to the loss of mass of the particles before and after the reaction and which has been converted into energy.

Where, E= Energy, m= Mass, c= Speed of Light.
Substituting values of m and c,
E= 70 kg * 9*1016 v2
Therefore,
Energy released due to total disintegration of 70 kg = 6.3*1018 Joules
