In a major announcement yesterday, NASA officials have stated that liquid water has been confirmed on the surface of Mars! Using data from the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, NASA scientists were able to figure out that Mars still has liquid water flowing on its surface, however intermittently it may be!
Mars has long been suspected as a potential hub for life beyond Earth, and this discovery of liquid water flowing on it’s surface has further enhanced Mars’ reputation. It is the first discovery of liquid water flowing in any celestial body other than the Earth!

We can look forward to many new discoveries about Mars in the decades to come. As we speak, NASA is providing major funding to a manned mission of the red planet. Who knows, maybe sometime in the 20s or the 30s we might be taking our first footsteps on the Red planet, once considered a habitat for aliens, downgraded to a barren desert, and now, so much more than just a barren red desert.
