Disappointments

In life, it is natural to have ups and downs. A person who is basking in the glow of having done something exceptional, might be regretting some decisions the next second.

We had arrived in Delhi with high hopes. We had been practising relentlessly for the past few days, firmly believing that we were good enough to do it all. But now, we stand corrected.

Just a week back, I had been on the pedestal of success; I’d gained exceptional marks in my examinations. Yet, at the end of the same week, I bow done before the challenge that I and our team faces, a humbling of epic proportions.

So what can we learn from this experience? Well, such a list is endless. We have witnessed first-hand the power of vocabulary and talent that is present in Delhi and in India.

We have been humbled. Yes. But, we won’t stand humiliated in some distant corner. We shall learn from this painful experience. The expectations put upon our shoulders and the manner in which we were unable to accomplish our task shall always strike a negative impression on our hearts. Yet, as there is some good in evil, we shall find some positivity from this painful experience and shall improve ourselves, and make ourselves worthy competitors in the future.
