The closest flyby of Pluto is actually less than 8 hours away, rather than the near 12 hours I have been reporting. This is because, the first signals post-flyby will be received 4 hours after the flyby, due to the long-distance communications required (check out yesterday’s post, One more day..). NASA is publicizing the whole affair and its possible to view all about the Pluto flyby on the New Horizons website!
