Pluto is 2370 km in diameter, making it the largest known Kuiper Belt Object known. This is somewhat larger than prior estimates. This is one of the first milestones than New Horizons has accomplished on its long and exciting journey to the outer solar system. The size of Pluto had been a mystery ever since its discovery on February 18th, 1930!
